In the first chapter of Romans, Paul insists that all men, whether Jew or Gentile, know God. He declares, “what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful…”
The very being and existence of man, and the creation around him, reveal God to him. We see what is required of us. We must acknowledge God, glorify Him as God, and be thankful. During this month which features our national Thanksgiving holiday, let us renew our commitment to acknowledge God as our creator and Lord, to ascribe to Him the glory that is due, and to be thankful—not just for what we have—but for who He is.
Sincerely,
