View Curriculum Seventh Grade

The following subjects are required for seventh grade:
 

Literature
Literature comprises one third of the English requriement for seventh grade (the other parts being grammar and book reports).

Note: You may, or we might, choose different courses from different grade levels if they are more appropriate for your student. CLASS reserves the right to modify course selection based on standardized test scores, course availability, and previous course assignments.

The selections of fiction and non-fiction short stories, biographies, and poems are arranged in units by themes such as People and Animals, Pilgrims, Patriots, Men and Women of Genius, Sportsmen, and Legendary Heroes. Featured authors include Dickinson, Kipling, Bunyan, Whittier, Dickens, Wilder, Longfellow, and O. Henry. Famous people and legends highlighted in the stories include William Tell, Casey Jones, Paul Revere, Clara Barton, Daniel Boone, Columbus, Thomas Edison, Michael Faraday, Florence Nightingale, John Glenn, Sherlock Holmes, and King Arthur.
