New Release “Good News in the Garden”

Welcome to the Garden!

I am so thrilled to finally share a project that has been growing in my heart all winter a spring garden activity book for kids of all ages. Whether you are a veteran gardener or just starting out with a single pot of dirt, I want to help your family discover the “Good News” hidden in the soil.

Is there any place more miraculous than a garden in the spring?

As homeschool parents, we are always looking for ways to move beyond the textbook and into the “living classroom.” We want our children to understand where their food comes from, but more importantly, we want them to see the fingerprints of the Creator in the world around them.

More Than Just Dirt and Seeds

The spring garden activity book isn’t just a guide on how to grow vegetables. It is a journey through the Gospel, told through the rhythm of the seasons. From the initial “Plans to Prosper” to the final “Reaping the Harvest,” your children will see how the life cycle of a plant mirrors God’s beautiful plan for salvation.

What’s Inside the Garden Gate?

I’ve designed this book to be a high-engagement, multi-sensory experience. Good News in the Garden is a free 8-chapter activity book designed to take your children on a journey from “Soil to Harvest.” Whether you have a sprawling backyard or a few pots on a sunny windowsill, these chapters are built for hands-on learning:

  • Hands-on Math & Science: From reading seed packets and using the “Knuckle Ruler” to creating a Hoverfly Lagoon and conducting Avocado Experiments, your student will dive deep into STEM concepts.
  • Sensory Exploration: We don’t just look at the garden; we hear it and feel it! Activities like the Spring Symphony & Scent Map and the Texture Palette help children connect with nature on a deeper level.
  • Engineering for Little Hands: Build a “Twig & Twist” Wattle Fence to safeguard your sprouts. In addition, create a Simple Bucket Well to understand the mechanics of “Living Waters.”
  • Soil Stewardship: Learn about the “Uninvited Guests” (weeds!) and explore the vital layers of the earth beneath our feet.

Faith-Rooted Learning

Every chapter is anchored in the Word. You’ll find:

  • Daily Challenges to encourage consistency.
  • Bible Readings & Memory Verses with dedicated space for writing out the memory verse.
  • Spiritual Connections that explain how tending the soil helps us understand how God tends to our hearts.

The Grand Finale: Reaping the Harvest

We wrap up the journey with a celebration! Your children will learn to make Sunshine Fruit Leather and create beautiful Cross-Section Fruit Prints. They end their experience with a formal Certificate of Garden Guardianship to hang on the wall.

The work we do in the dirt today leads to the beautiful harvest of tomorrow. We see it both in our gardens and in the hearts of our children.
