Christian Liberty understands that Christians hold various theological views, not all of which are in agreement with our own. Therefore, we allow families to construct their own independent Bible course if the choices we offer do not meet their needs.

This course examines the four Gospels and provides a chronological overview of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It contains lesson, thought, and review questions, as well as timeline charts and background outlines on the Gospels.

This course focuses on words with difficult sounds or endings; suffix rules; and English, Latin, and Greek prefixes. In addition, students will learn how to discriminate between synonyms and how to change accents.

This course combines grammar and writing (in alternating chapters) to teach students both the mechanics and the use of English. Grammar topics include a study of sentences with some diagramming, nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and references skills. Writing topics will teach students to write personal narratives, newspaper editorials, instructions, research reports, historical fiction, compare-contrast essays, limericks, free verse, and cover letters.

This course continues the student’s review of the parts of speech, capitalization, and punctuation, as well as the use of sentence diagramming. It also furthers study of the writing process by teaching the student about different types of sentences and the process of writing a research report. A student writer’s handbook is featured at the back of the text.

Several themes set the background for students as they examine works from around the world and back and forth through time. Comprehension questions, extension activities, and vocabulary building (including literary terms) are used to develop greater depth of understanding.

This course provides students with a solid study of traditional mathematics concepts. Problem-solving strategies, critical thinking, estimation, and mental math are routinely stressed throughout. The material begins by reviewing and expanding upon topics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. It also includes topics such as measurement, geometry, area and volume, ratio and percent, graphs and probability, exponents, and integers. A number of word problem sets are included.

This course uses the incremental method throughout 120 lessons to teach students how to apply mathematical tools and techniques to real-life situations using word problems. Topics covered include advanced divisibility concepts, multiplication, integers, prime and composite numbers, powers, roots, patterns and sequences, geometry and measurements, ratios, and more.

Topics covered include problem solving, percents, basic geometry, measures, fractions, decimals, proportions, beginning algebra, prime and composite numbers, and graphs and statistics. It also includes practical arithmetic, such as banking, budgeting, and purchasing electricity. Frequent story problems and problem-solving strategies are used to make arithmetic practical.

This course exposes students to varied types of maps, charts, and graphs on five themes. Themes examined include movement, place, location, human/environment interaction, and regions.

Description:

This survey course presents a solid overview of Old World history. It opens with the collapse of the Roman Empire and the rise of Christianity in Europe. It then covers the Dark Ages, the Renaissance, the Reformation, and the early era of exploration. Students will also discover why so many of the religious beliefs and cultural values of Medieval Europe were later transplanted to the Americas.
